Old News

On this page, I have a running account of all the ups and downs of the site and all the MacGyver news that's happened in the last few years since I've had the site up.

Check the website for the address and further details. For any MacGyver fans in or around Burbank, California, it's definitely worth checking out! :-) Also, there's a link to a recent Hi and Lois comic strip mentioning MacGyver on the Miscellaneous page.

12/17/08 There's some new unofficial and fanmade MacGyver T-shirts in the Fanwork section. I've also added some pictures of a Richard Dean Anderson autographed MacGyver postcard along with a few others to the Merchandise section, along with some updated information about the two French MacGyver biography books and a nice picture of both the front and back cover of the "L'Integrale MacGyver" book. Check it out! :-)

12/06/08 I've completed a new article for the MacGyver's Challenge section, this time dealing with MacGyver's multicultural appeal and Christ's call to love everyone! Seems like an appropriate one to contemplate while we prepare for Christmas, the time when God showed us His love for all by sending His Son, Jesus, to die for our sins and rise again. I'm sure I'll say it again before it gets here, but I LOVE Christmas, so I have to go ahead. Merry Christmas! :-)

12/03/08 Added a few more MacGyver promos, including one for the "MacGyver: Lost Treasure of Atlantis" TV-movie, to the Multimedia page. Also added a link to MacGyver Online's Youtube Channel to the Multimedia page. There's some good stuff on there, including USA Channel MacGyver promos, interviews and other things. Check it out! :-)

12/01/08 Got a new picture of some French MacGyver postcards as well as another autographed script on the Merchandise page.

11/27/08 Now thank we all our God for Thy many blessings! God has given us so much- His beautiful creation, a bountiful good harvest of food, wonderful families and friends and ultimately both physical life and spiritual life through His Son Jesus's death and Resurrection- Every day should be a day of Thanksgiving! Happy Thanksgiving! :-)

11/25/08 There's some cool pictures of the prop musket used in the "Good Knight, MacGyver" (Parts 1 and 2) episodes now added to the Merchandise page.

11/21/08 Another round of updates for today! There are some new MacGyver drawings as well as information about a really cool MacGyver seminar held back in 1998 by the Museum of Television and Radio, all of which have been added to the Fanwork page. There's a new photo in the Various part of the Images section. A few new cool links have been added to the Miscellaneous section and there's some new pictures of Glasslite's Fenix Moto toy and a variant of Ja-Ru's Vehicle Set toy that have been added to the Merchandise section. Check it out! :-)

11/20/08 Quite a few updates today in the Miscellaneous section, with MacGyver references in comic strips, Photoshop manipulations and magazines. Also, a new MacGyver fan drawing and custom made action figure in the Fanwork section.

11/19/08 Added a link to a funny Photoshop poster combining "Being John Malkovich" and MacGyver on the Miscellaneous page.

11/12/08 Slight update to the Merchandise page, with a little bit of added info of the dimensions of Glasslite's MacGyver helicopter toy.

11/10/08 Not a real big update, but I did add links to enlarge the pictures of the MacGyver pins on the Merchandise page.

11/05/08 Added a cool link to MAKE Magazine to the Miscellaneous page, a magazine dubbed by its readers, "the magazine MacGyver would read." It's pretty cool- check it out! :-)

11/04/08 Happy Election Day! Do Mac proud and go vote! :-) I've added a new blurb about some additional Glasslite MacGyver toys I've heard about, but never been able to find pictures of to the Glasslite toys section of the Merchandise page. Believe it or not, I have heard that a Pete Thornton action figure was indeed produced, along with an additional kit of figures and vehicles. If anyone has ever heard of this and has some pictures, please contact me through the Feedback page, as I would be very interested in seeing some photos of this.

11/3/08 There's some new MacGyver posters and promo pictures from French magazines on the Various section of the Images page.

11/2/08 Got a few new pictures of the Panini MacGyver stickers and the front and back covers of the German "MacGyver 3" video, all up on the Merchandise page.

10/28/08 Just put up a few new MacGyver advertisement flyers on the Promo and Press and Various parts of the Images section, including an ABC flyer promoting the premiere of MacGyver!

8/20/08 There's a new promotional advertisement for the 7th. Season up on the Promo and Press part of the Images section, as well as another shot of the Panini MacGyver stickers on the Merchandise page, and a bit of updated info, regarding MacGyver's education and vehicles on the Interesting Speculation part of the Miscellaneous page.

8/10/08 Got a new picture of a promotional brochure for "MacGyver: Lost Treasure of Atlantis" up on the Promo and Press part of the Images section.

8/06/08 Added a bit of new information as well as a new picture of the MacGyver 45 RPM LP single released in the early '90s in Europe to the Merchandise page.

8/04/08 Got some new updated information on the Panini MacGyver sticker album on the Merchandise page.

7/31/08 Check out the Merchandise page for a new MacGyver trading card from TV Week magazine, a MacGyver script signed by Richard Dean Anderson and Henry Winkler, and some new information on a magazine featuring MacGyver on the cover as well as the MacGyver sticker album sets.

7/28/08 AWESOME NEWS! Check out this great article, in which Richard Dean Anderson talks about the possibility of a MacGyver movie! It seems someone asked him about it at Comic Con in San Diego last weekend and he has said he would be ready to jump into playing the role of MacGyver again in a theatrical movie if given the chance! This is probably the most positive thing I've heard about a possible MacGyver movie thus far. I just trust Paramount will have the good sense to make it happen. :-)

7/28/08 Got a few new things on here today, like ABC promos for the "Flame's End", "Ugly Duckling", and "Rush to Judgment" episodes, as well as a Spanish promo for MacGyver, all on the Multimedia page. Also, there's a few new pictures of the French MacGyver album souvenir book, a MacGyver pin and the 1993 MacGyver calendar on the Merchandise page. And I've added a bunch of promotional pictures to the Images page, in the Promo and Press section.

7/16/08 Just a quickie-something I've been meaning to do for a while. Added a link to Amazon.com's US page for the "MacGyver on Ice" book, as well as a quick review and article mention of the book from the Books for Keeps site to the Merchandise page.

7/14/08 Added some more pictures of the MacGyver trading cards, stickers, and Glasslite's MacGyver helicopter, as well as a cool ABC promotional MacGyver watch to the Merchandise page.

7/10/08 Just found out recently that iTunes now has the MacGyver special episode of Mythbusters available for download. The link is also now up on the Miscellaneous page.

7/04/08 Happy 232nd. birthday, America! Happy Independence Day! :-)

7/01/08 Check out the Merchandise page! There's a new shot of Glasslite's Mac Moto toy, as well as the front and back covers of some of the German and French MacGyver video releases! There's also a quick update with a new link for MacGyver references on the Miscellaneous page. And some old news from last year has been moved to the Old News page. Hope you all have a great Independence Day this 4th. of July! Yeah! America rules! :-) "And this be our motto: In God is our trust. And the Star-Spangled Banner in triumph shall wave o'er the land of the free and the home of the brave." God bless you and God bless the USA! :-)

6/29/08 There's some new MacGyver pins, posters, and another French VHS video cover all up on the Merchandise page. And there's a MacGyver ball cap on the Fanwork page, as well as a poster from one of Richard Dean Anderson's charity ice hockey tournaments in the Images section, on the Various page. Also, here's a rather interesting and kinda funny video Entertainment Weekly has posted with Rainn Wilson giving his take on MacGyver. :-)

6/23/08 Added a bunch of MacGyver references on TV shows, movies and radio to the Miscellaneous page.

06/20/08 Got some new pictures of cast and crew MacGyver sweatshirts, the Panini MacGyver sticker set, and some of the Ja-Ru MacGyver flashlight toys, all on the Merchandise page.

06/16/08 There's some great MacGyver promos added to the Multimedia section of the site, including a 1985 ABC promo used for the premiere of MacGyver, an ABC commercial break, "Bitter Harvest" promo ad and a promo ad for "The Mountain of Youth" (billing it as "The Lost Episode"). It's pretty cool! Check it out! :-)

06/09/08 Check out this cool video from Maker Faire 2008, a technology convention of sorts, with Lee David Zlotoff, the creator of MacGyver, talking about how the name "MacGyver" came about and how he created the show and who MacGyver is based on. Very interesting. Because of the fickle nature of the Internet and Youtube, be aware that it might not always be online. But anyway, here's the link for Part 1 and Part 2.

06/08/08 Rearranged and added to some of the promotional pictures in the Images section as well as added some pictures of a 12 inch custom made MacGyver action figure I ran across on Ebay to the Fanwork page.

06/02/08 I put a few new pictures of Glasslite's "Mac Moto" toy, loose from the packaging, on the Merchandise page.

05/28/08 Added some pictures of a cool MacGyver prop, Kambala's flag from the "Brainwashed" episode, to the Merchandise page.

05/26/08 Happy Memorial Day! Thank you to all the many who serve the USA in the military currently and to those who have gone on before to secure our freedom. May God bless and protect you all. :-) Also, not a real big update, but I did add a few new pictures of the 100th. episode commemorative Swiss Army Knife issued to MacGyver cast and crew, including a black version, to the Merchandise page, as well as a few other minor tweaks.

05/04/08 AWESOME NEWS! (If it's true) I've only seen this story mentioned in various blogs, so I am not entirely sure of its veracity, but it seems that there is a MacGyver theatrical movie in the works!!! :-) According to this site, Lee David Zlotoff, the creator of MacGyver, announced at the Maker Faire 2008 event that he holds the movie rights for MacGyver and is working on a theatrical movie. It seems I remember hearing such rumors about 6 years ago and those wound up falling flat. However, if this is really true, then hopefully we'll hear some more official confirmation soon. This would be incredible if Richard Dean Anderson could be persuaded to take on the role of MacGyver once more in a serious movie for one last great adventure. I would certainly love to see it. With the DVD releases, attempted "Young MacGyver" series in 2003 (they got the Pilot done, but killed it after that), MasterCard commerical from SuperBowl 2006, RDA's appearance on The Simpsons, and just this year's Mythbusters MacGyver special, along with all the video tributes on Youtube and the Internet at large- MacGyver has been re-emerging in popular culture and I think all these things would help in paving the way for a theatrical movie. Along with the fact that movie versions of TV shows have been popular for a while now (at least since "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" in 1979) and the recent resurgence of 1980s movie heroes with the original actors (Slyvester Stallone in both "Rocky Balboa" (2006) and "Rambo" (2008), Bruce Willis in "Live Free or Die Hard" (2007), even Paul Hogan in "Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles" (2001) and definitely Harrison Ford in "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" (opening May 22, 2008!))- all of these actors have proven that they still have the mettle to get the job done and done well, even at an older age. Richard Dean Anderson is not even quite as old as these guys- he can certainly still perform the role of MacGyver at least once more. Here's hoping for the best, anyway. :-)

4/27/08 I know it's been a while- but rest assured, I have not forgotten about this site. I've just been pretty busy with a lot of other things going on and only have so much time to devote to the site. But I have actually made a few updates here and there, mainly on the Multimedia page with a link to watch episodes of MacGyver from seasons 1-7 online for free on CBS.com! How cool is that? :-) I also added a cool link to a MacGyver parody song online ("Hey There MacGyver"- parody of "Hey There Delilah" by The Plain White T's) to the Fanwork page. And there's a really cool promotional marketing picture from the premiere of MacGyver in the Images page. And if you enjoyed the recent Mythbusters MacGyver special, be on the lookout for further MacGyver-themed episodes, as in a recent interview, the show's stars stated that they wanted to do more! Ultimately, I'd love to see exposure for MacGyver like this add up to a theatrical movie starring Richard Dean Anderson back as MacGyver! It may never happen, but we can always dream and hope! :-) Until next time, keep on MacGyvering! ;-)

1/05/08 Happy New Year to all! :-) May The Lord bless and keep you all during 2008! And I've got some exciting MacGyver news for the new year. For all the fans of The Discovery Channel's "Mythbusters" that have wondered when they were going to get around to doing something on MacGyver- your dreams have finally come true! YES!!! Mythbusters is doing a MacGyver special sometime soon this year. To whet your appetite, they've already done some MacGyver "mini-myths", including testing out the drain cleaner taking out the lights in "Obsessed" and using a silver gum wrapper for a temporary fuse in "Hellfire". I've heard that there's also been one done with using chocolate to stop an acid leak, as seen in the "Pilot". Check out the Miscellaneous page for links to Youtube clips from Mythbusters and more information when the show actually airs.

2007 News

12/06/07 Well, here's an early Christmas present for you. I just recently finished a parody song about MacGyver that I've been playing around with for a little while now. If you're a fan of a certain R&B hit with a good sense of humor, you might enjoy this. ;-) Check it out on the Fanwork page. And lest I forget to say it later- Merry Christmas to all! :-) And may you truly know the great joy and peace that the Christ child came to bring! "For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord." (Luke 2:11) :-)

10/12/07 The complete MacGyver series on DVD released on October 16, 2007! TVshowsonDVD.com had some great new banner ads up for the release! And they also made this MacGyver release their Pick of the Week! :-) Check out their site.

10/02/07 Check out the new entry to the MacGyver's Challenge section! This one focuses on God's MacGyverism! ;-) (Which happens to be the greatest MacGyverism ever pulled off!!!) :-)

09/30/07 Upon request, I've added a slightly different angle of the 1986 MacGyver poster (RDA in a blue shirt) on the Merchandise page, along with pictures of another MacGyver cast jacket.

08/18/07 Added a bunch of really cool MacGyver promos for episodes, like "Every Time She Smiles" and "Bushmaster", as well as promos from ABC and European stations, and ABC commercial break messages, all up on the Multimedia page. Check it out! :-)

07/26/07 Added a link to buy the "Chillin' on the G Spot" album from G Love E, the rap group that performed the "Tough Boys" song in the "Tough Boys" episode of MacGyver to the Merchandise section of the site. (Unfortunately, this seems to be the only album the band ever released and it does not seem to contain the "Tough Boys" song.)

07/24/07 There're some new pictures of an autographed "Blow Out" script and Hank Aaron autographed baseball (from the "Squeeze Play" episode that Hank Aaron guest-starred on!) in the Merchandise section. Also, there's some new promo videos uploaded in the Multimedia section, with both a USA MacGyver commercial and an ABC commercial for the "Children of Light" episode.

07/19/07 Thanks to some Feedback I got recently, I've been alerted to the fact that the upcoming complete MacGyver series DVD set (on October 16!) has 39 discs, which is one more than the previously released volumes. So hopefully this extra disc will contain the TV-movies and possibly other extras. And I've also added another MacGyver reference (on "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids (The TV Show)") to the Miscellaneous page, thanks to someone else writing in. :-)

07/04/07 Happy Birthday, America!!! For 231 years, the United States of America has been the land of the free and the home of the brave! :-) Happy Independence Day! Have a great day barbecuing and eating watermelon and ice cream and watching some MacGyver! ;-) (I'd suggest perhaps "The Golden Triangle", "Thief of Budapest" or "The Ten Percent Solution") And pray for the USA and President George W. Bush. May we always remember Proverbs 14:34 "Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people." And may Psalms 33:12 always be true of the USA- "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He chose for His inheritance."

06/30/07 Amazon.com now has the upcoming MacGyver complete series DVD set up for sale for the price of $124.99 right here.

06/28/07 GREAT NEWS!!! The MacGyver complete series DVD set is BACK on the schedule!!! Paramount is planning to release it on October 16, 2007! It should contain both TV-movies ("MacGyver: Lost Treasure of Atlantis" and "MacGyver: Trail to Doomsday") and hopefully maybe some other extras. There's always a chance! Check out the slightly more horizontal cover art, along with the original, newly posted at TVShowsonDVD.com and on the Merchandise page. Also, got a few more pictures on the Promo and Press part of the Images section, from different episodes. Also, there's a new MacGyver pin posted on the Merchandise page.

06/14/07 Check out a few new pictures of promotional pictures for MacGyver on the Promo and Press part of the Images section. Also, I've got a few new MacGyver postcards, sticker albums, and T-shirts to look at as well a bit more information on the French MacGyver biography books on the Merchandise page.

06/07/07 Added a new Richard Dean Anderson signed photo to the Various Pictures part of the Images section. Also, check out new pictures of the British VHS release of "The Legend of the Holy Rose" video, as well as the official MacGyver soundtrack on LP on the Merchandise section of the site.

06/03/07 Thanks to the encouragement of people who enjoy this column and because I've been wanting to do another entry on something I've been thinking on lately, I have just completed another article in the MacGyver's Challenge section. This one is about the quest for vengeance and learning to say "No" to revenge and "Yes" to forgiveness. Check it out and let me know what you think on the Feedback page.

06/02/07 Updated a link on the Fanwork page for the MacGyver "Virtual Seasons" 8 and 9 fanfiction site, which is no longer active but is maintained through the Internet Archive. Also, check out some much better pictures of the cover art for French MacGyver videos on the Merchandise page. I also moved some items that I'm fairly certain are fanmade from that page to the Fanwork page. And I've added a menu to the top of the Merchandise page to make it easier to jump to the different categories of MacGyver-related merchandise. One of these days I may still try to break this page down further into different sections with links to separate pages, but for now this should be a nice improvement.

04/24/07 I've added two new banners on the main page for World Vision, "a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice." (As you can see on the WorldVision site.) This is a group I support both with my prayers and financial gifts and I find it's a very practical way to share the love of Jesus Christ with "the least of these". (See Matthew 25:40) Whether you're a Christian or not, this is definitely something MacGyver would be all over and supportive of-so step up and be a real MacGyver! :-)

04/23/07 Added a new picture of the package for the MacGyver sticker set from Panini on the Merchandise page.

04/21/07 Slight update to the Quotes page. Just corrected a few things and added a quote from "The Assasin".

04/20/07 Cleared off some older news updates and moved them to the Old News page. Also, the MacGyver TV Schedule page has been updated, sadly to reflect MacGyver's non-airing status. :-( I made a quick update to the Miscellaneous page with a link to another online dictionary listing for "MacGyver", this one with actual newspaper article usage! I've also added some pictures of an early script for "A Prisoner of Conscience" episode, as well as a list of script changes and the shooting schedule for the episode. There's also some pictures of Phoenix Foundation props, like phone book listings and stationery. And I cleaned up some other things too, all of which you can see on the Merchandise page. And I was able to archive the old comments that were on my Guestbook and they are available for viewing there, though I no longer have an active Guestbook, due to the site that hosted it shut down. If you want to leave me a comment on the web site, feel free to do so on the Feedback page.

04/19/07 Well, it's been a while, but I've made a few updates to the site. First off, hope everyone had a great Easter celebrating the Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ! :-) I sure did. And on to the updates. I've added some pictures of a few more fanmade MacGyver pins to the Fanwork page. Also, the cover art for the German release of "Legend of the Holy Rose" (Parts 1 and 2) on VHS is now up on the Merchandise page.

03/26/07 Updated the information on the MacGyver Mailing List page, as the old list has been defunct for some years now, but there is revived list that is still current.

03/15/07 I've added some information on the makes and models of some of the jeeps used on MacGyver, as well as a few more comparisons of original airings and syndication edits of episodes in the Interesting Speculation part of the Miscellaneous page. I also added a fun link on that page- someone's boyfriend of the week measured against MacGyver! :-) Also, I did a bit of cleaning up and decided to take off the bootleg DVD covers from the Fanwork page, especially since you can now purchase the entire series on the official DVD set released by Paramount.

03/14/07 Added a link to more MacGyver artwork by fans on the Fanwork page. Also added and updated Mailing Addresses. Oh yeah, I meant to post this earlier, but haven't been able to until now. The possible MacGyver pilot I had mentioned before is actually called "Tranny McGuyver" and it stars Willam Belli. It's more of a comedy pilot conceived by Willam Belli and does not have any real connection to MacGyver, other than a reference in the title. You can view the 2 minute teaser on Youtube. Be warned that it does contain explicit material.

03/12/07 Whoa! Sorry it's been a while on updates. I was temporarily over my storage limit and just now got that problem fixed. So anyway, there's some exciting news to report now. The complete series of MacGyver is getting released to DVD!- Again! But this time, it will be all 7 seasons in one big set- and it's pretty likely "MacGyver: Lost Treasure of Atlantis" and "MacGyver: Trail to Doomsday" will be included, hopefully with some other extras. The set is scheduled to be released on May 22nd. Check out all the latest on that at www.tvshowsondvd.com And you can see the cover art on the Merchandise page, thanks to TVshowsonDVD.com.

2006 News

12/08/06 This is pretty neat. I've run across a fanmade MacGyver flash game online recently. Check it out here or see the link on the Fanwork page.

12/07/06 Well, treat this as a rumor, but here's an interesting comment that came up in an interview I found online. Actor Willam Belli, as seen on Nip/Tuck as of late, remarked that he was working on shooting some ADR (Automated Dialogue Replacement) for a pilot called "Tranny MacGyver". Here's the link. Another MacGyver TV series??? I'm curious if it is somehow using footage from previous MacGyver episodes, given the definition of ADR. Maybe...

11/27/06 Found an awesome MacGyver music video online that I posted the link to in the Multimedia section. It's to the tune of "Run for Cover" by Petra!!! (Which happens to be basically the ultimate Christian rock band and my favorite band ever!:-)) The song comes from Petra's 1986 album "Back to the Street". Check it out! Petra means ROCK! :-)

11/08/06 Whoa! An actual update! I know, I know- it's been a long while coming. Sorry about that. That annoying real life stuff keeps getting in the way. Anyway, this update is appropriate because it deals with both MacGyver and real life. Check out my newest entry, "MacGyver and the Great Commandment", on the MacGyver's Challenge page. I'll try to have more of these journals, as well as other updates to the site as often as I can, but time continues to be limited. And don't forget to pick up MacGyver Seasons 1-7 on DVD!!! Now if we can just talk Paramount into releasing "MacGyver: Lost Treasure of Atlantis" and "MacGyver: Trail to Doomsday" on DVD! All we can do is ask! :-) Until next time then, keep those Swiss Army Knives sharp!

10/13/06 Added a new reference to MacGyver in the comic strip "Pickles" to the Miscellaneous section.

08/04/06 Updated the Promotional and Press pictures page in the Images section with a few more promotional pictures I've run across, including a press kit for the 1994 TV-movie "MacGyver: Lost Treasure of Atlantis". Also, check out another pretty cool fanmade MacGyver action figure I found on Ebay that I've now added to the Fanwork section.

07/12/06 Amazon.com now has MacGyver Season 7 DVD up for pre-order at a price of $27.99 and there is also a listing for the complete series in one DVD package for $172.99 here. And the Merchandise page has been updated accordingly, of course.

07/07/06 MacGyver Season 7 will be released on DVD on October 24th.!!!! Unfortunately, it doesn't look like it will include the 2 TV-movies, MacGyver: Lost Treasure of Atlantis and MacGyver: Trail to Doomsday. Perhaps these two are being saved for a future separate release, hopefully one that would include a ton of extras! Check out the cover art on the Merchandise page.

07/04/06 Happy Independence Day!!! I think MacGyver would surely agree in saying, "I'm proud to be an American, where at least I know I'm free! And I won't forget the men who died to give that right to me. And I'll gladly stand up next to you and defend those rights today- 'cause there ain't no doubt, I love this land- God bless the USA!" America, America- God shed His grace on Thee! Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation! And conquer we must, when our cause it is just- and this be our motto: "In God is our trust". And the Star Spangled Banner in triumph SHALL wave o'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!" God bless America! :-)

06/13/06 Got a cool new ABC commercial for the "Collision Course" episode (as well as an episode of B.L. Stryker) and 1989 and 1990 ABC promotional ads that feature MacGyver along with tons of other stars, and the original MacGyver Season 1 DVD set ad added to the Multimedia page. Also added a newly discovered MacGyver reference on Star Trek: Enterprise, as well as a link to a video of Richard Dean Anderson's appearances on the heavily-laden MacGyver referencing episode of The Simpsons- "Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bangalore" to the Miscellaneous page.

05/30/06 Just heard the word! MacGyver Season 7 is coming in October!!! (Possibly either October 10 or 24!) Check out the link at TVshowsonDVD.com

03/17/06 Added a new link on the Miscellaneous page for a pretty cool MacGyver animation site, as well as a link to the script for the "Pilot" episode on the Merchandise page.

02/23/06 I've got a new link on the Miscellaneous page to a very MacGyver-like game we played in class today. It's an interesting study in teamwork and it also keeps you thinking like MacGyver to see what items would be most important to you if you were lost on the moon! Check it out!

02/17/06 I added a new find to the Merchandise page today. It looks like there was a 45 RPM single release of the MacGyver theme song in France some years ago. Take a look!

02/06/06
Watch the "MacGyver" MasterCard commercial aired during SuperBowl 40 between the Seattle Seahawks and the Pittsburgh Steelers on February 5, 2006. By the way, the Steelers won 21-10! Nice to see the dynasty return! Richard Dean Anderson IS most certainly still MacGyver! This commercial was so AWESOME! He can definitely still pull off the MacGyver role. I really wish he'd consider bringing MacGyver back for a feature movie! One can only hope! See the commercial and a bunch of cool "behind the scenes" stuff (including an interview with Richard Dean Anderson) at the "Priceless" campaign web site. And you can download the commercial from MacGyver Online's Video page.

02/01/06
VCR ALERT!!!! Awesome news! MacGyver has come out of retirement!!! (for a quick cameo):-) It seems that MasterCard has hired Richard Dean Anderson to reprise his MacGyver role for a commercial in the SuperBowl!!! Can't wait to see this! Don't forget- the Seahawks are playing the Steelers this Sunday night, February 5, on ABC at 6 P.M., with a special guest appearance by MacGyver! Priceless! :-)

01/29/06
I made an update to the Miscellaneous page to include a MacGyver reference I recently discovered in Weird Al Yankovic's hilarious "Couch Potato" song! :-)

01/11/06
Happy New Year!

2005 News

12/21/05 No, I haven't forgotten about this site. I've just recently got through a very busy semester and I am enjoying Christmas break! I will try to have some more stuff on this page soon, but until then, let me wish you a very Merry Christmas!!! Time to pull out that VHS copy of "The Madonna", but next year you can watch that episode on DVD when Season 5 releases! :-) And have a great time celebrating the birth of The Madonna's Son, Jesus Christ- He's what Christmas is all about!

11/26/05 Happy Thanksgiving! :-)

11/19/05 I made a slight update to a page I've been meaning to fix up. I've put a link on the Forum page to the MacGyverOnline forum, by far the best MacGyver forum on the Internet!!! :-) Check it out, sign up and join the MacGyver chat today! (But you'll have to pick a different user name- I'm already on there as "MacGyver"! :-))

11/17/05 If anyone would be interested in it, I have the 1st. Season of MacGyver on DVD (this is the slightly edited version) up for bids on Ebay. Thanks for looking!

11/08/05 Check out the cool video clips of 2 Taiwanese soft drink commercials Richard Dean Anderson did some years ago, one of which is very MacGyver-esque! Cool! I've got the link on the Multimedia page, thanks to Kate's Richard Dean Anderson site. Also, check out the Merchandise page to see the cover art for MacGyver Season 4 and Season 5 on DVD! The Season 5 DVD set is scheduled to release on March 14, 2006!

11/02/05 It's come to my attention that some of the video files on the Multimedia page don't work. The only ones that don't work are the 1985 MacGyver ABC promo video and the "Every Time She Smiles" promo video. The reason for that is that the web site that originally hosted them has gone down. I do have copies of these files saved somewhere and I will put them back up for download on my server as soon as I get a chance.

10/19/05 I've made a slight update to the "Interesting Speculation" section of the Miscellaneous page of the site. A fan has informed me that MacGyver's blue Nomad is a 1957 or 1958 model, but certainly not a 1946 model! (That's actually something I'd been meaning to fix, but had forgotten about.) I also added the text of another of MacGyver's answering machine messages, thanks to the same fan. I also added a new link to the MacGyver's Challengepage. This is a pretty neat devotional comparing MacGyver's ever-preparedness to God's admonition in Ephesians 6 to always put on the full armor of God. I didn't write it, but I happened across it on the Internet and thought it was pretty cool. Graduate school is keeping me quite busy nowadays, but I will try to keep updating as I can.

9/30/05 I've been able to obtain a nice deal on bandwidth so hopefully the site will be okay for a while. Updates coming soon.

9/2/05 Well, until such times comes that I have enough money and time to keep the site updated and running at higher bandwidth, I'm afraid I won't be able to update on more than an intermittent basis. I do have some exciting MacGyver news to report today though. Remember that Season 3 of MacGyver is coming to DVD on September 9th. and just yesterday I found out that we can expect Season 4 on DVD on December 6th!!! Talk about an early Christmas present! Sweet! Check out the pictures for both sets on the Merchandise page.

8/3/05 So sorry the site's been down for a while. I ran out of bandwidth again and I just had to wait until it was reestablished. I have some more MacGyver stuff I will try to be adding to the site soon, as soon as that "real life" stuff slows down enough to give me time to do so! :-) In the meantime, you can check out another kind of "Mac" link I came across today at http://www.produnis.de/MacGyver/index.php/Hauptseite

6/10/05 I've got some sad news today. I just learned that Dana Elcar, who starred as Pete Thornton on MacGyver, has died at the age of 77. He died from complications due to pneumonia on June 6, 2005. He was famous for roles on "Black Sheep Squadron", "Baretta" and "Dark Shadows", but I'm pretty sure will forever best be known as Pete Thornton on MacGyver. Check out the link to the story from Associated Press. I've updated the General Information page accordingly. Also, I've set up a little tribute to Dana Elcar on "The Stringer" page in the Images section. I originally set this page up as a tribute to the series finale episode of MacGyver, "The Stringer", but now I think of it again in a new way in light of this. Check out this page to remember that MacGyver and Pete are still friends forever!
In other site news, I've added a neat link to the Links page for MacGuy's MacGyver blog at MacGyverNews.com MacGuy also has a forthcoming book which explains how to perform the MacGyverisms that MacGyver did on the show. The book is called "The Unofficial MacGyver How-To Handbook". Check out more details and ordering information about it on the Fanwork page. There's also a link there to buy MacGyver T-shirts from 80stees.com

6/9/05 I've added some more information to the Merchandise page regarding the preorder of MacGyver Season 3 on DVD, available at Amazon.com, as well as Amazon.com's preorder page for a MacGyver Seasons 1-3 DVD combo set online. Also, check out the Images page, particularly the Various Pictures section where I've got a new picture up!

6/5/05 Check out DVD Talk's review of the MacGyver Season 2 DVD set at the link on the Merchandise page. I've also got some screenshots of the menu screen and episodes on there.

6/3/05 Now there's a picture of the MacGyver Season 3 DVD cover art work online, courtesy of TVShowsonDVD.com. The release date is September 6th. and will have 5 discs. The whole set will probably sell for the usual $30 or so. I have the same information on the Merchandise page, as well as some information on the Norway release schedule. Also, I hope to have another MacGyver's Challenge article up as soon as I get a chance to write it! :-)

5/30/05 Check out the link on the Merchandise page to take a look at the MacGyver Season 2 DVD packaging. Don't forget- the DVD set will be out in stores a week from tomorrow!!! I also added a promotional picture for Wolf Muser (portrayed Jonathan in "Easy Target") to the Promo and Press part of the Images section.

5/22/05 Well, I was just now watching Jeopardy! on the Game Show Network and I saw a MacGyver question!!! Cool! It was in the category "Tough TV"! The answer was "Richard Dean Anderson's gadget TV series adored by Marge's sisters on The Simpsons"- (or something pretty close to that) and of course, the answer was "MacGyver"!!! Okay, just thought I'd mention that. I have, of course, added this reference to the list on the Miscellaneous page, along with a few others. There's also a cool link to a page that has a list of edited scenes from MacGyver episodes shown in syndication. From what I can tell, all these scenes are included on the new DVD releases. Anyway, check out both of those on the Miscellaneous page and I'll try to have more cool MacGyver stuff up soon.

5/17/05 Added a picture of a "Best of Ladysmith Black Mambazo" album which contains a song that was used on the "Black Rhino" episode of MacGyver! The album is available for purchase through Amazon.com! Cool! Check it out on the Merchandise page!

5/15/05 Slight update today. I added a little more information to the "MacGyver on Ice" entry on the Merchandise page. According to Amazon's Canada page, there was both a hardcover and paperback edition of this book available, so that's cool to know. Also, check out the new entry to the Scripts section of the Merchandise section. There's a link there to the script for "The Stringer", hosted by Rockateer over at the awesome MacGyver Online forum! I also found a listing on Amazon.co.uk for a MacGyver original TV soundtrack audio CD released March 15, 2004!!! I'm not sure if this is a new MacGyver soundtrack released or more likely just a reissue of the German soundtrack, but it might be worth checking out. I've got the link on the Merchandise page. I've also added a little more information about the German release (which was also apparently reissued in April, 2004) on the Merchandise page as well.

5/11/05 Okay, here you have it, at long last! I finally completed my first article for the MacGyver's Challenge column. As I've said before, if you're interested in some of the many Christ-like qualities I've seen displayed in MacGyver, feel free to check it out! If you're not, then don't feel compelled to read it. I realize not everyone is going to agree with my views, but regardless of how you feel, feel free to send me feedback on the article or on anything else about the site through the Feedback page. As always, let's keep it mutually tactful and respectful. Thanks! :-)

5/9/05 I told you it'd be soon, didn't I? Anyway, here's some new MacGyver stuff to check out! Thanks to MacGyver Online's forums, I've found out a potential further release schedule for MacGyver on DVD! Looks like we can look for Season 3 in August and Season 4 in December of 2005! The info comes from this link and I'm not totally sure of the veracity of it, but you can check it out. Anyway, as long as we have more MacGyver DVD releases coming at some point, it sounds good to me! And of course, the Merchandise page has been updated accordingly.

5/8/05 (Wherever it's applicable) Happy Mother's Day! Sorry for the lack of updates! I've been kept really busy with work and school and other stuff. I do have one small update though. I was notified that MacGyver Online (have I put enough links to this awesome MacGyver forum yet? :-)) was part of the official online promotion of the MacGyver Season 1 DVD set and the pictures on their site are the real thing. So kudos on that and the information on the Merchandise page has been changed accordingly. I really will try to have some more new stuff up soon. Keep checking back.

4/27/05 Sorry for being down for like, a month! Bandwidth keeps getting eaten up all the time! Anyway, I do hope to have some more cool MacGyver stuff coming soon. And yes, the long-promised MacGyver's Challenge column will be up soon.

4/24/05 I've added a new "Search for cool stuff" link through Amazon.com So use it to buy cool MacGyver-related and otherwise stuff and help support the site. Thanks.

3/23/05 Check out the Merchandise page for a new view at the MacGyver Season 2 DVD set cover art. The final cover art changed the picture of MacGyver hang-gliding for MacGyver rappelling a cliff. It looks really cool! You can pre-order it now at Amazon.com for $27.29! It is another 6 disc set, with no extras as before. But hopefully, the cool extras are being saved for the Season 7 set to round out the 14 episodes. Also, I have started a new section of the site called "MacGyver's Challenge". This will be sort of an ongoing column exploring the Biblical values of MacGyver. Look for the first article coming soon.

3/20/05 I've made quite a few updates today. Check out yet another fanmade MacGyver T-shirt on the Fanwork page, as well as two new links I've found to MacGyver fan films! (One's in French and one's in German and both seem to be parodies or tributes.) I also put up pictures of a MacGyver transparency and display sign I found, as well as new pictures of the 1991 French MacGyver souvenir booklet, and the Swiss Army Knife and Lamborghini Cheetah toys from Glasslite. You can find all of those on the Merchandise page. I'll try to have more cool MacGyver stuff for you later on, including a few more references and possibly a new column I've been considering. More coming on this later.

3/15/05 I've added a link to a close up view of the MacGyver 2nd. Season DVD set cover art on the Merchandise page.

3/13/05 I added a new link to the Miscellaneous page for a rock and roll band called The Phoenix Foundation, no doubt named after MacGyver's place of employment. Check it out. Also, I added a new MacGyver reference from tonight's episode of The Simpsons to the Miscellaneous page too. And there's a cool thumbnail picture of the MacGyver Season 2 DVD box set cover art up on the Merchandise section.

3/11/05 Check out MacGyveronDVD.com today. The promised trailer is finally up in both Quicktime and Windows Media formats. It's about a minute long or so and looks really cool!!! And at the end, there's the promise of more MacGyver DVDs coming soon!!! Awesome!!! (By the way, this trailer is different from the 30 second one I've seen on television that I've also got available for download in the Multimedia section of the site.)

3/6/05 BIG NEWS!!!- Mac is back! The MacGyver Season 2 DVD set will be released on June 7th.!!! Yea!!! It will have 22 episodes on 6 discs, like the 1st. Season, coming in at a running time of about 1,200 minutes! You can currently get it from DVDEmpire.com for $27.19 and DVDPlanet.com for $27.97. Check out DVDPlanet.com for $27.97. Check out TVShowsonDVD.com's report for more information. I have posted this information on the Merchandise page of course, as well as some new pictures of a 1991 French MacGyver souvenir booklet. I also have a neat item for the female MacGyver fans (I understand there's quite a few of them! :-) - Check out the Fanwork page to see a MacGyver charm bracelet I found up for bids on Ebay. Also, for any that are still looking for it, the "MacGyver on Ice" book by Mark Daniel is also up for bids, so hurry and grab it while you can. It's well worth the read! Also, check out the MacGyver Top Ten List on the Miscellaneous page. I've added my own top ten list of MacGyver's top ten worst "dates" or reunions with old "friends". Take a look and enjoy!

2/22/05 I finally got around to updating the site, so there's some new MacGyver stuff up to check out. I have some more fanmade MacGyver T-shirts you can look at in the Fanwork section, as well as a nice fanzine cover featuring MacGyver! I also have two new promotional pictures in the Promo and Press part of the Images section. One is of Alan Loyayza, an actor who portrayed a character on the 2003 "Young MacGyver" pilot, and a nice promotional picture from the series finale episode, "The Stringer". There's also another shot of the MacGyver soundtrack compact disc on the Merchandise section, as well as a very cool looking official T-shirt listing on the back all 139 episodes from all 7 seasons of MacGyver! And of course, the front has the classic MacGyver logo! Go check it out! I'm kept quite busy these days with work and school coming up but I'll try to keep the good MacGyver stuff coming as much as possible.

2/13/05 Well, my site is back up again! Lack of bandwidth shut it down for a while. Sorry that it has to keep taking these little vacations every now and then! I'll have some new stuff up soon.

1/26/05 I have uploaded a new video clip to the Multimedia section!!! Go there to check out the MacGyver Season 1 DVD set commercial!!! In other really cool news, I just got the MacGyver Season 1 DVD set today!!! It was so cool seeing an official MacGyver product for sale on the shelves!!! (Even if Wal-Mart does spell it wrong! :-( Also, check out Paramount's official site for MacGyver DVD releases here!!! I also added this link to the Links page. And finally, here's another review (this one a bit more positive) for the MacGyver Season 1 DVD set from TVshowsonDVD.com!

1/23/05 I made a quick update to the Merchandise section of the site today, by adding some information about the Spanish toy machine gun that was made by a company called Bernabeu Gisbert. I didn't even realize I had that information available until I looked a little more closely at the pictures I had posted on my own site! :-)

1/19/05 Well, I was just watching MacGyver on TVLand today ("Halloween Knight" - great episode!!!) Anyway, right after the show ended, there was a commercial for something I don't remember, but after that there was a commercial for Season 1 of MacGyver on DVD!!!!! It was so cool! I heard the theme music being played and they showed a clip from the pilot- Barbara said to MacGyver, "Don't tell me you know how to make a bomb out of a stick of chewing gum!" And then there was some funky kind of sound effect and MacGyver said, "Why? You got some?" That was awesome!!!! There were some other clips quickly shown, but I can't remember them all right now, though I'm pretty sure they'd all be from season 1. The ad said Season 1 of MacGyver was coming to DVD! but I don't think they gave the release date. Anyway, that was really cool. I'll have to try to set my VCR and tape it the next time it comes on. If I can, I'll try to get a video clip of it to archive on the site. Cool! Awesome! (Now I just feel like saying a bunch of words to say that I feel incredibly great because I just saw a commercial for Season 1 of MacGyver on DVD! It helps that I was and am also wearing my "MacGyver" jacket at the time. It's great.)

2004 News

7/28/04 Just a quick update for today. I added a few things I noticed while watching "Ugly Duckling" today to the Interesting Speculation page in the Miscellaneous section. I've also begun fixing some things on the Multimedia page and I'll try to have that page totally fixed up as soon as I can.

7/22/04 I've got some new pictures of the back and inside of the 1993 MacGyver calendar up today in the Merchandise section. I also put up a picture of a new MacGyver T-shirt I found in the Fanwork section.

7/17/04 Today I added a new drawing of Richard Dean Anderson in his Jack O'Neill role from Stargate SG-1 to the Fanwork page. I know it's not technically from MacGyver, but it's still the same actor and it's really a pretty neat drawing anyway.

7/16/04 I added some new pictures of MacGyver slides used by televison guide magazines to promote the show to the Merchandise page.

7/8/04 Just a quick update today. I added a new picture to the Promo and Press section of the Images page. Also, I've got another Ebay alert! There's about five different sets of rare Richard Dean Anderson appearances up for bids right now, including many MacGyver commercials and related clips.

7/6/04 Today I took down the last poll and put the results on the Past Polls page. There is now a new poll up, so be sure to take a second to vote in that one. I also added an interesting article asking whether or not MacGyver's MacGyverisms would work in real life to the Articles page. There's also a few new pictures on the Fanwork page.

7/4/04

Happy Independence Day!

7/2/04 I have added some more pictures of MacGyver crew jackets, as well as pictures of the MacGyver stickers and a magazine covering MacGyver to the Merchandise page. And I think I will leave the menu at the top of the page, so I've taken down the opinion poll about it and the favorite season 4 episode of MacGyver poll will be coming down as soon as I get a chance to take it down and put up a new one.

6/27/04 There's a TON of updates today! I've added some new listings concerning MacGyver's answering machine message to the Interesting Speculation page, some more pictures of the MacGyver toy machine gun and duffle bag and a French video to the Merchandise page, some screen shots from yet another bootleg DVD set as well as my own little MacGyver drawing to the Fanwork page, and some new entries and links and fixed some stuff on the Miscellaneous page. It feels good to get some of this material out on the site finally, so please do me a favor and take some time to check it all out. I do have still more stuff that needs to be added sometime and that will come soon, along with some site restructuring.

6/26/04 I'm considering a site rearrangement today. One of the guestbook signers suggested that it might be better if the site menu were at the top of the page rather than the bottom. I'm trying this out right now and I've set up a poll that will just run for about a week. Do you prefer the menu at the top or the bottom? Let me know. I'll also be taking down the Favorite Season 4 episode poll in the next week or so, so vote soon if you haven't done so already.

6/25/04 I added an entry to the list of MacGyver references on television shows to the Miscellaneous page today, this one coming from an episode of Full House. I have some more new stuff that I will be adding soon, whenever I get another chance to update.

6/22/04 Today I added a new picture of a lighter to the Fanwork page, as well as a new picture of one of the Epi-Log magazines to the Merchandise page.

6/17/04 Ebay alert! I just noticed today that there are a bunch of MacGyver scripts for auction on there. You can instantly buy them for $12.95 Check it out! Also, I found an online poll for the sexiest television crime fighter from the 1980s. MacGyver defeated the other contenders with stiff competition from Thomas Magnum, Columbo, and Ben Matlock! Check it out here. (Warning: Beware of the picture of David Hasselhoff in a speedo. That was pretty scary!)

6/09/04 As promised, today I have put up some new MacGyver material I've found. I have added some new pictures to both the Merchandise and Fanwork sections.

6/06/04 It seems the MacGyver Online Community has changed servers again. The site is now located here. The link on the Links page has been changed accordingly.

6/04/04 Sorry for the lack of updates lately. Today I took down the last poll and put up a new one. Be sure to check out the results on the Past Polls page, and vote in the new poll. I have also added some navigational links to the Episode Guide page to make it easier to jump through the seasons. I will try to work on some more renovations in design and organization as well as adding some new MacGyver material I've collected.

5/20/04 I added a link today to Ken Harrison's official Web site on the Links page. Ken Harrison is the composer of music used in various MacGyver episodes, as well as the two TV-movies. Be sure to check out his demos page and listen to the Action/Adventure sample, which has some material from MacGyver, particularly the two TV-movies.

5/13/04 I discovered an interesting web site today called MacGyver World. The site offers downloads of all the MacGyver episodes and the TV-movies for a one time fee of about $50. I've included the site on my list of unofficial sources for MacGyver episodes on the Fanwork page.

5/9/04 Hey, I just found out today that the MacGyver Online community has changed servers and it can now be located here. The link on the Links page has been changed accordingly.

5/8/04 Just a quick update today. I have added a link to Spike's page for MacGyver to the Links page. I have also just found out about a recent McDonald's commercial that make a reference to MacGyver. I will try to see if I can get the exact transcript to add to the Miscellaneous part of the site.

5/6/04 I added a funny reference to MacGyver from the Half-Baked movie to the Miscellaneous page. I also fixed some stuff on the Interesting Speculation page.

5/1/04 I took down the last poll today and put up a new one. It seems that "Partners" seemed to be the big winner, with "Friends" right behind it. A lot of the votes were pretty scattered out. Take a look at the results on the Past Polls page. Also, don't forget to vote in the new poll. I have also put up a new picture on the front page and I have moved some of the older news from January and February to the Old News page.

4/26/04 Today I added some pictures of MacGyver fanzines to the Fanwork page, as well as a MacGyver hat and car sign to the Merchandise page.

4/20/04 I've got a bunch of MacGyver stuff today! I've found some possible news on the release of the MacGyver series on DVD! Hollywood North Report reports that a release is to be announced in late 2004. That may only be a guess on their part, so we'll have to wait and see. They also have a poll up for which Vancouver-shot series you would like to see on DVD and MacGyver is in second place, falling to The Sentinel. Throw in your vote and put MacGyver on top! Also, I found a news story about the "Sneaky Uses for Everyday Things" book I've got a link to on the Fanwork page. Read the story here. And finally, I heard about a magazine that has a MacGyver challenge for rebuilding things. Check out Ready Made Magazine's page for more details.

4/20/04 Sorry the site has been down so long. There was some trouble with the web server, but it looks like everything is back up and running again! I'll try to have some more MacGyver stuff on the site when I get a chance.

3/29/04 Added an interesting link to the Merchandise page for a European DVD of network promotional spots, including one for MacGyver. You can buy a copy through the site.

3/26/04 I added a link to a MacGyver oil painting on the Fanwork page.

3/24/04 Today I added a link to The MacGyver Workout by Testosterone Magazine! (Insert Tim Taylor grunts here! :-) Check it out on the Miscellaneous page.

3/22/04 Just a quick update today. I added links to rock bands named after MacGyver on the Miscellaneous page. Oh yeah, I also changed the picture on the front page.

3/21/04 I added a new picture to the Promo and Press section of the Images page. I also added a picture of a new fanmade T-shirt to the Fanwork page.

3/13/04 I updated the Glasslite toys page on the Merchandise page with some new pictures of the Pickup Fenix, Jeep Toyota, and Land Rover.

3/11/04 I added a link to a really cool model of MacGyver's jeep and MacGyver action figure done by a French fan. Check out pictures through the link on the Fanwork page. Also, there's some bad news for UK fans. It seems that Bravo has stopped airing MacGyver. However, the Bravo site still has a MacGyver page up. I have updated the MacGyver TV Schedule page accordingly. Oh yeah, I also put a new picture on the front page, probably because I saw the second part to the episode it comes from today.

3/9/04 Good news! It turns out the Mac's Your Man Web site has only gotten a new address and it is not down, as I had said before. However, according to the site, it was last updated in October 18, 2003, but hopefully there will be some new stuff on there soon. The music videos are really cool!!! Try visiting it at Mac's Your Man. I have changed the links for the site on my Fanwork and Links pages accordingly.

3/8/04 I have gone through the whole site and finally added "back" buttons to make navigation a little easier. I have also updated the MacGyver TV schedule page with the link to SpikeTV's MacGyver airing schedule. I have also discovered that my forum is no longer up at ezboard.com Since it wasn't being used much anyway, I probably won't bother to put up a new one. Instead, allow me to direct you to MacGyver Online, one of the best MacGyver forums I have seen on the Internet lately. I also have a few other forums you can check out listed on my Links page, which I've also updated a little, by the way. Oh yeah, I also fixed up a few things on the Quotes page.

3/3/04 I took down the last poll and I have put the results on the Past Polls page. It seems the "Pilot" episode got the most votes for favorite, with "Nightmares" and "Target MacGyver" coming in right behind it. Check out the full results on the page. I also fixed the links within the site, so the "home" buttons should be working now. And don't forget to vote in the new poll!

2/21/04 Added some more MacGyver references in the Books and Songs categories on the Miscellaneous page.

2/16/04 Just a quick update today. I have moved all the stuff from last year to the Old News page. I'll try to have some new stuff to add to the page soon.

2/13/04 Happy Valentines Day! Hope everyone has a romantic time with their date tomorrow! I've changed the picture at the bottom so you can see Mac in action! :-) I've also added a link to a MacGyver fan film to the Fanwork page.

2/9/04 Good news everyone! Now you can watch more MacGyver episodes during the day! Spike TV has begun airing MacGyver at 11 am and 12 pm daily, starting today! Check the schedule here. And you can also catch MacGyver on TV Land at 1 am, 5 am, and 3 pm daily! Also, I added a new picture to the Fanwork page today. I also added a new link to the Miscellaneous page.

1/30/04 I took down the last poll and put up a new one! Check out the Past Polls page to see the results. I will try to keep the site updated on at least a weekly basis, but that's about the best I can do for right now, as I'm in the middle of a very busy semester at school.

1/23/04 Today I put a new item on the Fanwork page.

1/22/04 I have added a new link for an online MacGyver community page to the Links section. Check it out!

1/16/04 I added a new item to the Fanwork page. Also, just so you know, the "MacGyver on Ice" book is once again for sale on Ebay. Pick it up if you can. It's definitely worth it! By the way, the link for IMDB's page for the proposed MacGyver movie does not work anymore. This looks like a bad foreboding for the movie, but maybe something will still come of it. We'll have to wait and see.

1/9/04 I added a new picture of the Glasslite Swiss Army Knife as well as a new item to the Merchandise page.

1/7/04 Added some new pictures of the Glasslite Nissan Safari toy. Check it out on the Merchandise page. I also added a new link to the Links page. I also found something interesting on IMDB.com. When you search for MacGyver, the link for the possible feature movie no longer comes up, although the Young MacGyver page is still there. I checked the link on my Links page, and the link for the MacGyver feature movie still works. Interesting...

1/02/04 Added some pictures of a really cool looking 1 foot tall custom MacGyver figure. Check them out on the Fanwork page.

2003 News

12/31/03 Sorry the site's been down for basically the whole month of December. I've finally got it going again and now I have a ton more bandwidth. Well, I hope everyone had a merry Christmas, and had a chance to watch "The Madonna" episode of MacGyver, and celebrated the birth of The Madonna's (that would be the virgin Mary, not the singer) Son, Jesus Christ. I will try to have more MacGyver stuff up as soon as I can. Until then, Happy New Year to all.

12/03/03 I've got a ton of updates today. I've added new items to the Fanwork page, and the Merchandise page, including some items that I've known about but never been able to get a picture of until now! I took down the last poll and you can view the results on the Past Polls page. These polls aren't terribly scientific, but they are fun and interesting, so please take a second to answer the new one I have up!

11/29/03 Sorry the site was down for so long. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! It seems like a good time to watch "The Outsiders" episode, mainly for that Thanksgiving reference MacGyver makes. And because the Amish is about the closest to the Pilgrims I can think of. I'll try to have some more new stuff up soon.

11/18/03 Added a new item to the Fanwork page.

11/13/03 I found a new link I just had to add to the site today. On the radio, I heard the winning song for the "Rock about the Roll" song contest sponsored by Duck brand duct tape! The winner was a song called "When I'm stuck, I turn to duct tape" by Something to Do. It's a really cool ska song that just sounds like it could be MacGyver's life song. :-) Check out the Duct Tape Guys' site and you can listen to the song on there. I've also got the site link in the Miscellaneous section.
Pete- "The old duct tape, huh?" MacGyver- "Never leave home without it." ("Partners" - just saw this again yesterday!)

11/11/03 I put the new ads on the Articles and Interviews page as well as the Promo and Press pictures page, since they kind of fit on both.

11/10/03 Added some new ads to the Promo and Press page, as well as a new item at the bottom of the Merchandise page, and new pictures of lighters on the Fanwork page.

11/7/03 I found an interesting article online today. It's about doing Public Relations work in Education MacGyver style! Check it out here. Also, I had a funny thing happen at school. I found a few posters advertising a Chemistry class being offered, and the headline was "Got Glue?" which was funny enough, but then it asked a question: "Want to learn how to make things like MacGyver does?" That was cool to see the poster reference MacGyver, but all the posters spelled the name wrong. So I had to go change the posters from "McGiver" to MacGyver! :-)

11/04/03 Today I finally fixed up the Quotes section, so check it out. I also added a few links to the Links page.

11/03/03 This just in! I just did a search for the "MacGyver on Ice" book on Abebooks.com and I found 1 copy available for sale! It's for sale by a German seller and it's listed at $173.64!!!!!!! I hope the prices for the book on Ebay never get that high!!!

11/03/03 I hope everyone had lots of fun eating lots of candy over Halloween! And I hope the faithful MacGyver fans were out there giving out bean sprouts and carrot sticks! :-) Today I added a new picture to the Promo and Press section, as well as one to the Articles and Interviews section.

10/30/03 I added a new comic strip reference to MacGyver in the Miscellaneous section, which is pretty cool. Check it out!

10/28/03 Today I put some more crew jacket pictures up on the Merchandise page, as well as another wall clock on the Fanwork page.

10/27/03 My site is finally back up!!! I'm sorry it was down for so long. The site had some bandwidth problems. (again!) However, things are back up and running again. I did do some updates on the site while it was down, so check some of the latest posts I have on here. ALERT!!! The "MacGyver on Ice" book is once again on Ebay, along with some crew jackets and toys. Get them while you can!

10/20/03 I added some more pictures of custom made MacGyver action figures and pins to the FanWork page, as well as some pictures of postcards to the Merchandise section. I also put another picture on the Various page in the Images section. There's also a new link on the Miscellaneous page.

10/16/03 I have put in a new entry on the Merchandise page for the Hollywood Reporter salute to MacGyver on its 100th. episode. I also added a new picture of a cast Swiss Army Knife, as well as new pictures for the Ja-Ru toys and the Glasslite toys, and another tid bit on the Interesting Speculation page.

10/9/03 Added some neat links to the Miscellaneous page, as well as one to the Merchandisepage.

10/08/03 Major cool item!!! Okay, check out the Multimedia page. I have added two really cool MacGyver commercial video clips from the very first season on ABC, back in good old 1985!

10/07/03 Found an interesting article online mentioning MacGyver today. Check it out here. It's a sad story, but it does offer proof that "MacGyver" is still used as a phrase in everyday language today. Here's another article mentioning MacGyver here.

10/06/03 I added some new items to the Merchandise page today. I also added a really cool link to the Links page. The link's also on the Multimedia and Fanwork pages because the site is a showcase of cool MacGyver music videos!

10/02/03 Added a new prop to the Merchandise page.

9/30/03 I have added a lot of new pictures to the TV-Movies section and the Promo and Press page in the Images section. I also have some more pictures on the Various page too, as well as some new entries on the Merchandise page. You might also have noticed the MacGyver screen capture at the bottom of this page. I'll try to keep rotating different ones every so often. Finally, I have also put up the results of the last poll and put up a new one!

9/29/03 I have some new props listed and pictured on the Merchandise page, as well as a new picture on the Images page, in the Various section.

9/25/03 Today I finally put some articles and ads on the Articles and Interviews page, so now there's something more than just the links I already had. I also put some new images up for the MacGyver on Ice book on the Merchandisepage. I also finally added the FoxTrot comic, as well as another MacGyver reference, to the Miscellaneous page. Check the comic out, it's quite funny.

9/24/03 Added two new props to the Merchandise page and some new items to the Fanwork page.

9/23/03 Added some new pictures of crew jackets to the Merchandise page as well as a new drawing to the Fanwork page.

9/18/03 Added some observations from "Blind Faith" to the Interesting Speculation page. I also added a new quote to the Quotes page. (Yes, I know, this page still needs to be worked on a lot. I will fix this page up as soon as I can.) I also fixed some of the files on the Multimedia page. Most of them should work now. I will try to work on fixing up and adding to this page more when I can as well.

9/17/03 Added a new clothing item to the Merchandise section.

9/15/03 People magazine has put out a new book called "100 Greatest TV stars of our time" and on page 29, MacGyver is listed as one of the characters who made his mark! There's a nice picture of Richard Dean Anderson as well, from one of the promotional pictures for MacGyver.

9/12/03 I have added a new section to the site called Interesting Speculation in the Miscellaneous section. This is just a page where I will try to post interesting facts I've gleaned from the episodes, and try to put together MacGyver's history based on what has been revealed in the episodes and other sources. I have a few things up already and I will be adding more soon. If I have anything wrong, or if you have something you'd like to contribute, let me know through the Feedback page. I also moved some of the older news on this page to the (you guessed it) Old News page!

9/11/03 This seems to be a good day to watch MacGyver. MacGyver always seemed to be very patriotic. Maybe an episode like "The Ten Percent Solution" would be appropriate for today. May God bless all those who lost loved ones on this day two years ago. That star spangled banner does still wave over the land of the free and the home of the brave. (Get a Christian hymnal and read the fourth verse of the national anthem. (or go here.) It's a great song, especially when you sing all 4 verses!) America is still one nation under God and this is our motto: "In God we trust!" God bless America!

In site update news, I added some promotional pictures to the Images section and some more sites to the Links section as well as new sites and MacGyver references on the Miscellaneous sections. I've also found some interesting news on the possible plot of the pilot episode of "Young MacGyver", assuming it was actually filmed. Check the link for more information. (It's in Spanish)

9/10/03 ALERT! The "MacGyver on Ice" book is once again on sale at Ebay! (Along with a novelization of the 1988 Tom Hanks movie "Big", incidentally). Check it out here. It seems the MacGyver book has popped up a lot recently on Ebay. Also, I have added a new picture to the Merchandise section and some new pictures to the Fanwork section.

9/5/03 Added some new pictures of the fanny pack and director's chair in the Merchandise section.

9/4/03 I found a picture online of Brad Pitt (supposedly) doing a screen test for the new MacGyver movie. Take a look here. (More than likely, it might just be a picture put together by a fan) What do you think? I don't think he looks too bad, but he still can't replace Richard Dean Anderson as MacGyver!

9/2/03 Hey! Hope everyone had a great Labor Day! I just have a quick MacGyver alert for today. On Ebay, the "MacGyver on Ice" book is now up for auction. I periodically post alerts when this book is up for sale because it is so incredibly hard to find. (At least it was for me!) Also, there's a ton of MacGyver scripts and toys on there right now too.

8/28/03 I have heard an interesting rumor and that's all I can really call it. In case it turns out to be true, I'll go ahead and post it here. I have heard from a message board that the MacGyver television series is supposed to be released on DVD this October. I presume there would also be a VHS version too. However, I read this from a user on a message board who claims to have a "friend" at Paramount. I wouldn't trust this too much. I've seen those "have friend at wherever" stories pop up about a lot of things on the internet and most of the time they're not true. Of course, someone else in the same post said that they had heard that the VHS and DVD series would not come out until July 2005, so who knows?

8/22/03 I finally fixed the form on the Feedback page. So feel free to send me some feedback on how you like the web site and what you'd like to see on it! I have also put up a new poll, so please take a second to vote. Also, I have fixed up the Trivia page and I hope to have it complete soon.

8/21/03 Here's a quick heads-up for cable viewers. TVLand is moving MacGyver from 1 pm to 2 pm, starting September 1st. MacGyver will also continue to air at midnight. And as for web site updates, I have gone through and fixed some outdated links and other things, as well as added some new links to the Links page. I also added a little to the Miscellaneous page and fixed some stuff on the Merchandise page.

8/18/03 The national public radio broadcast about MacGyver solutions in real life is now archived at theThis American Life web site and you can hear it online. There are also a bunch of MacGyver episode scripts up for bids on Ebay right now, so you might want to check it out.

8/17/03 Sorry this is a late update, but I just found out that MacGyver will be on national public radio from August 15-17! (sort of). Check out this link for details. The radio show will detail real-life people using MacGyver-like solutions to problems. I know this a late update, but you can listen to the Real Audio broadcast online by next week. Also, I added a new item to the Fanwork page.

8/7/03 I fixed the counter today, but had to set it at 1000, since that's approximately where it was. I also took down the poll and put up the results on the Past Polls page. I will try to have a new poll up soon.

8/5/03 I have updated the Fanwork and Merchandise section. I still have more stuff to put up and things to fix though.

7/16/03 Well, my site is now listed on Google.com Yeah!!! Unfortunately, there's now a banner ad at the top of my site courtesy of Google. I don't know what they will have pop up, but I don't think they'll have anything bad( I hope). Anyway, I will try to have more updates coming soon.

7/5/03 Happy Independence Day!
Well, the "MacGyver on Ice" book is no longer on Ebay, but there's a bunch of rare MacGyver collectibles on there right now, including some Ja-Ru and Glasslite MacGyver toys, and two Japanese MacGyver videos! Check it out! Also, I have updated the Merchandise section with some new pictures.

6/26/03 ALERT! The "MacGyver on Ice" book is once again up for bids on Ebay. It is going for a mere $39.39 (approximately) in US dollars. It ends soon, so grab it while you can. I've also added a new picture to the Fanwork section.

6/26/03 Well, I've got good news or bad news, depending on what side of this issue you were on. I have mixed feelings about it myself, but it looks like the "Young MacGyver" series will not be a series after all. From what I understand, the pilot has been shot, but the series will not be picked up. However, the WB may still show the pilot as a movie of the week or release it to video. However, neither one of these seem too likely, since the series is not being picked up. I thought the idea of MacGyver having a nephew was ludicrous to begin with, so I'm pretty glad they're not showing it. However, as far as I know, the feature movie is still in the works. Check out the Entertainment Weekly article about the cancellation of "Young MacGyver" here. I don't know for sure where that picture of Jared Padalecki comes from, but it could be from the "Young MacGyver" pilot. In other site update news, I've moved the older posts on here to the Old News section. I still have lots of plans for this site, and I hope they will come to fruition at some point.

6/16/03 Sorry this is a little late, but Richard Dean Anderson was on The Wayne Brady Show today and they talked some about WB's upcoming "Young MacGyver" series. It's a repeat of the May 19th. episode. The Richard Dean Anderson site should have a transcript up soon, and I'll be sure to put the link on here. I need to look at it myself because I missed the episode. Also, the Bravo channel in the UK has begun airing MacGyver again weekdays at 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. UK fans can check the listings here.

5/28/03 Sorry I've been a while in updating. I've been very busy and right now I'm on vacation. But I did find another older article from TV Guide that says that the Young MacGyver series will be "more irreverant than the original". I don't like that quote much. Check out the article online here. I also added a new MacGyver drawing to the Fanwork section.

5/9/03 This week's TV Guide, the May 10-16 issue, has a brief mention of WB's new Young MacGyver television show! It does confirm that Jared Padalecki will star as Mac's nephew and also has a great quote from supervising producer Sam Baum who says that "his (Angus MacGyver's) presence will definitely be felt in the pilot." The article also mentioned that if the series is picked up, fans can expect an appearance by Richard Dean Anderson as "Uncle" MacGyver as early as the November sweeps!!! I'm feeling much better about this new show after reading this! I've also found a TV Guide article that indicates that MacGyver's nephew will be named Clay. Check these and other online articles here and here.

4/28/03 The "MacGyver on Ice" book is onEbay NOW!!!! Get it while you can! You can buy it now for only (approximately) $52.42 (and considering some of the prices I've seen bidding for it end on, that might be a good deal!) Also added some more links to theLinks page. Also, check out theMiscellaneous section for some more newly added MacGyver references and fun stuff.

4/15/03 Sorry I've been a while in updating. I found some interesting news on the Young MacGyver pilot from the messageboard at http://rdanderson.com. The author of the site has talked with Stephen Downing, the executive producer for MacGyver and the new Young MacGyver pilot, and it looks like this might turn out to be a good series, even if I don't like the premise too much. Check out the post here. I have also updated the Merchandise section with even more great MacGyver finds! Also, check out the Fanwork section for more MacGyver drawings!

3/19/03 TV Land now has a site up for MacGyver.

3/6/03 Sorry the page was down for a while. I got my site upgraded so now it has much more bandwidth. I have also found out some more news on the Young MacGyver series coming from WB. According to this article at Zap2it.com Jared Padalecki has been cast to star in the series as MacGyver's nephew who now works for the Phoenix Foundation. He previously portrayed Dean on The Gilmore Girls. I also checked the IMDB's listing for Young MacGyver again, and they don't have Padalecki listed as MacGyver's nephew yet, but they do have Richard Dean Anderson as MacGyver under the cast list!

2/20/03 Added a new item to the Fanwork page and fixed up a few things here and there. Also, I just found out that IMDB has a page up for the "Young MacGyver" television series.

2/18/03 Added another mailing address to the site. Also added a link to a new French MacGyver site, as well as some new pictures for the Merchandise and Various Pictures sections.

2/13/03 Added some new pictures of the Glasslite toys.

2/4/03 Added some mailing addresses to the site.

2/01/03 Added some new pictures and information to Merchandise and Fanwork pages.

1/29/03 Fixed some stuff on the Merchandise page and added some new information and pictures.

1/27/03 Fixed many links and uploaded many pictures. Merchandise and Fanwork sections are now both fully up. Of course, I will still be adding more stuff as I come across it. Multimedia page is also coming along.

1/23/03 Fixed a lot of links and uploaded all pictures for Seasons One and Two images. All of the Images section is working now. I will try to add pictures for the Promo and Press Releases section soon and any other various pictures I might have.

1/14/03 Added a new forum and fixed some links.
